Disney+ has announced the premiere of “Return to Las Sabinas”, the first daily broadcast series from a streaming service produced in Spain. The 70 episodes will be broadcast from Monday to Friday this fall. This ambitious project reinforces Disney+'s commitment to original production in our country, the quality of content, and innovative formats.

“Return to Las Sabinas” is launched alongside Diagonal (Banijay Iberia), responsible for “Amar en tiempos revueltos” (the production that reinvented daily broadcast series on linear television), “Amar es para siempre” or the recently premiered “Sueños de Libertad”. This new Disney+ bet has a high level of production: the shooting has been done in natural indoor and outdoor locations in Riells del Fai, Sant Andreu de Llevaneres and Sant Vicenç de Montalt; it has a recognized team behind the cameras and a prominent cast, with names that make their first foray into the daily series and others already consolidated in this format.

The series is directed by Jordi Frades (“Los Herederos de la tierra”, “La Catedral del Mar”) and stars Andrés Velencoso (“Amor de madre”, “Élite”), Celia Freijeiro (“Maridos”, “Vida perfecta”), Ángela Molina (“Velvet”, “La valla”), Nancho Novo (“Sueños de Libertad”, “Los Pacientes del Doctor García”), Olivia Molina (“La Valla”, “Amar en tiempos revueltos”), Natalia Sánchez(“Sueños de Libertad”, “Los herederos de la tierra”), Miquel Fernández (“Apagón”, “Alba”), María Casal (“Sentimos las molestias”, “Mercado central”), Marta Calvó (“Amar en tiempos revueltos”) and Julia Carnero (“La Catedral del Mar”).

In “Return to Las Sabinas”, the Molina sisters, after many years without seeing each other, receive a call that makes them return to their hometown, Manterana, to attend to their father’s health problems. This unexpected return means reconnecting with the life and loves they tried to forget. Installed in their family estate, Las Sabinas, they will face secrets from the past that will change their lives forever.

Jaume Banacolocha, Ignasi Serra and Jordi Frades himself, from Diagonal (Banijay Iberia), are the executive producers of this series created by Eulalia Carrillo and which has scriptwriters such as Jordi Calafí and Nacho Pérez de la Paz, among others, and with Marta Creus as production director.

For Sofía Fábregas, vice president of original production of Disney+ in Spain, the project represents “a fundamental piece within the company’s strategy. It is the first time that a platform in Spain decides to bet on a daily broadcast format.
