Seven stories of love, death and sex that weave magic into reality, irony and sarcasm into black humour, as they reveal the secrets and emotions of a handful of everyday people whose lives intersect in the city of Barcelona. In this urban microcosm we witness the tragic story of Jan, illustrator of children’s books, and his daughter, Nora; the frenetic life of Claudia, the Colombian cleaning lady and single mother, and her obsession with the dead; the successful lawyers, Ernest and Julia, who are not entirely what they seem; the strange Rayuela (Hopscotch) bookshop and its salesgirl Pili, one-time call girl, now the protagonist of an impossible love; the odd-ball security guard, Gasull, who is still dependent on his mother, and bent on killing Death; the sad and sorry public servant, Dalmau, who must die in order to discover whether he is loved; or the story sustaining that two young people can indeed love one another to their dying day. 7 games of love, death and sex, jumping through the steps of a hopscotch game: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and on to heaven. An adaptation by Miquel Obiols of several stories by acclaimed Catalan writer, Sergi Pàmies, from the books “Si menges una llimona sense fer ganyotes”, “La gran novel·la sobre Barcelona” and “L’últim llibre de Sergi Pàmies”.
