ATRESPLAYER Internacional premieres LA NOVIA GITANA outside of Spain.

This original series from Atresmedia is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Carmen Mola, one of the most important literary revelations of recent years.

Atresplayer Internacional, the streaming platform of Atresmedia Internacional, premieres La novia gitana on Sunday, January 12. The eight-episode series, each 50 minutes long, is directed by Paco Cabezas (Fear the Walking Dead, Penny Dreadful, The Umbrella Academy, or Adiós).

The series is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Carmen Mola, a pseudonym for writers Jorge Díaz, Agustín Martínez, and Antonio Mercero. This series by VIS, an international studio of Paramount, Diagonal (Banijay Iberia), and Atresmedia, can now be seen outside of Spain on Atresplayer Internacional.

Actress Nerea Barros (El secreto de puente viejo, Tiempo entre costuras) stars in La novia gitana, playing Elena Blanco, a veteran homicide inspector of the BAC (Brigada de Análisis de Casos). Inspector Blanco is an intelligent woman obsessed with solving her own horror and sees herself sadly reflected in the pain of the Macaya family, parents of two young women murdered six years apart. She and her team will be responsible for finding the perpetrator of a macabre ritual.

The cast of the series is completed by Darío Grandinetti (Miguel Vistas), Ignacio Montes (Zárate), Mona Martínez (Mariajo), Lucía Martín Abello (Chesca), Vicente Romero (Orduño), Francesc Garrido (Buendía), Ginés García Millán (Rentero), Mónica Estarreado (Sonia), Moreno Borja (Moisés), Lola Casamayor (Ascensión), Miguel Angel Solá (Salvador), Carlos Cabra (El Capi), Zaira Romero (Susana Macaya), Daniel Ibáñez (Caracas), Miguel Hermoso (Masegosa), Cecilia Gómez (Cintia), Emilio Palacios (Raúl), Oscar de la Fuente (Jaúregui), and Manel Sans (Lusson), among others.

About La Novia Gitana:

La novia gitana tells the story of the investigation of a macabre homicide case. Elena Blanco, a veteran inspector of the BAC (Brigada de Análisis de Casos), is an intelligent woman obsessed with solving her own horror and sees herself sadly reflected in the pain of the Macaya family, parents of two young women murdered six years apart. She and her team will be responsible for finding the perpetrator of a cruel ritual.

Written by Carmen Mola, winner of the 2021 Premio Planeta for La Bestia, it is the first volume of a trilogy that has reached hundreds of thousands of readers. Its publication in ten countries highlights the phenomenon that began in 2018, becoming a saga completed by La Red Púrpura and La Nena. Carmen Mola's story narrates Inspector Elena Blanco's obsession with solving the crime of La novia gitana.
