"‘What are you waiting for?’, which releases its first images today, is an erotic-romantic comedy that shows the reality of two completely opposite, but not confronted, worlds through the encounters and disagreements of two couples who fall in love. The series will delve into a deep exploration of the contradictions that haunt love in the 21st century and will also show the search of its protagonists for sex-affective patterns that distance themselves from the classic patriarchal standards that have meant so many mistakes to their parents.

It is the adaptation of the successful novels ‘I don’t ask you so much’ and ‘What are you waiting for?’ (Essence publishing), written by Megan Maxwell, an author established as an international phenomenon with more than five million copies sold in 25 countries.

‘What are you waiting for?’ has 8 episodes of 50 minutes each and has been filmed in locations in the Canary Islands and Madrid.

Adriana Torrebejano, Rubén Cortada, Eva Ugarte, and Francisco Ortiz lead the cast of the fiction. Llum Barrera, Mariano Llorente, Aria Bedmar, Ramón Pujol, Alba Planas, Pastora Vega, María de Nati, Ramón Langa, Antonia San Juan, Noa Álvarez, Manu Baqueiro, and Anna Moliner, among others, complete the cast.

‘What are you waiting for?’ is a production of Buendía Estudios Canarias in collaboration with Diagonal (Banijay Iberia) and DeAPlaneta, with the participation of Atresmedia TV.

Montse García is the director of Fiction of Atresmedia TV; Ignacio Corrales, José Ripoll (Buendía Estudios Canarias), Jordi Frades, Jaume Banacolocha, Ignasi Serra, Laura García (Diagonal), Ignacio Segura, Yolanda del Val and Elena Bort (DeAPlaneta), are the executive producers.

David Martin-Porras and Salvador García are the directors of the fiction. Natalia Durán and Marta Armengol are the scriptwriters, with Natalia also in charge of the novel’s adaptation. Can, an attractive air pilot of Turkish descent, respectful of the will of a traditional father, attends monthly dinners where he is presented with possible candidates for marriage. At one of them, he meets Sonia, a single mother who shows up, unannounced, at the dinner her mother has organized for her other two sisters to meet the rich heir.

Can and Sonia will discover, without knowing it, that they have a lot in common. They enjoy sex without strings, frequent clubs where they give free rein to their pleasures and keep their emotions at bay to avoid falling in love.

On the other hand, Daryl, Can’s close friend and also a pilot, is willing to give up his bachelorhood when he falls in love with Carol, a very cheeky stewardess who will turn his life upside down, but the fears they both drag and their differences will force them to question their feelings and to value if they can overcome what separates them."
